AWD Speaks! – Panel 1

If you’re a new teaching professor, postdoc fellow, and graduate students, come learn about the various branches of AWD! If you’ve been a member of the WP for a while, come support your colleagues and learn about their approaches! These presentations will lead our new (and old!) team members through the arc of the course with a spotlight on a particular assignment from start to finish.

  • Science (3307) by Tom Akbari
Tom’s presentation will scrutinize genres and epistemological practice in the discourse of the natural sciences. His course considers the social nature of claim-making in the sciences; makes some claims, perhaps competing claims, together; and experiments—visually, textually—in representing those claims.
  • Tech (3302) By Bret Keeling
Bret will describe the projects he included for the ENGW 3302 “shell” that he created for Canvas. Then, he’ll explain why he included them 1) specifically in the context of technical writing per se and 2) more generally in the context of the Student Learning Goals.Topic: AWD Speaks!
