AWD Speaks! – Panel 2

If you’re a new teaching professor, postdoc fellow, and graduate students, come learn about the various branches of AWD! If you’ve been a member of the WP for a while, come support your colleagues and learn about their approaches! These presentations will lead our new (and old!) team members through the arc of the course with a spotlight on a particular assignment from start to finish.

  • Social sciences (3308) by Kat Gonso
Kat’s presentation will overview several assignments that focus on fostering collaboration, co-writing, and student-driven research. In addition, participants will learn about a successful service-learning collaboration with The Black Umbrella Project.
  • Health (3306) by Laurie Edwards
Laurie’s presentation will overview assignments that focus on generating sustainable research projects and communicating “insider” research to patient and public audiences, with particular emphasis on countering medical misinformation. She will also cover the application of these assignments to live, on-ground classes and asynchronous online classes.
